Man attacked and robbed in street

A GANG of men attacked and robbed a man just moments after he withdrew cash.
The victim, a 25-year-old man from Rayleigh, had just taken out money from a Barclays cashpoint on Grays High  Street when the attack happened.
He was approached by four men who tried to snatch the cash from his hand.
The plucky victim at first managed to shrug them off and continued walking off down the High Street.
But, as he reached the junction of Wharf Road, the gang of thugs attend him and stole his bag, containing the cash, before fleeing.
The attack happened at 6pm on Friday.

Lived in Grays all my life and haven't set foot in the town centre for two year's for fear of being attacked anytime of the day.
I now go to Corringham or Basildon.

Shame that the police are not doing anything to make Grays a safer place to visit !

Horrible cowardly scum. What is this country coming to ? Its not just Grays its everywhere. There is a hell of amount of foreigners in Grays as not long ago there was a similar street robbery committed by eastern Europeans according to the Echo who were arrested. Also Somalians robbed a young fella in Tilbury who were also caught and jailed but not deported. We are picking up and copying crimes from Cape town and Bogata. BIG prison sentences please Judges.

Are there any CCTV images of the gang trying to snatch the money off the man when he first withdrew the cash? Secondly, why didn't he leggit to the police station when the robbers tried there luck first of all? odd!

I walk through the town centre every day and I know for a fact Barclays have plenty of CCTV cameras dangling from their building. Im sure if i tried to remove a cash machine with a folklift truck, i'd be caught on Grays CCTV..

What, no description of the thugs?

I wonder why that could be. There seem to be crimes committed by white people, and other crimes where the identity and description of the offender are not mentioned.

Nothing to do with being 'right-wing' just an educated guess. Nobody is saying that all locals are angels, only that a disproportionate amount of crime in south Essex seems to be committed by 'non-locals' if you know what I mean.

Whether this cowardly attack has been carried out by foreign scum , local scum
left wing scum or right wing scum it needs to be stamped out the police seem unable to do I would like to know why and what is being done to find out why the town is not being policed properly

Its getting to be a no go area any time of the day, and yes the place is full of foreigners, and no i would'nt trust any of them...oh sorry i can't say that because its racist....ok so the 3 times ive caught different foreigners with their hands in my bag trying to steal from me and the police choose to do nothing....anyway i now carry a large rat trap in my bag when i visit grays look after number one i say because nobody else does.

What baffles me about this issue is that the victim didn't make contact with the police,but continued on his merry way!
I find this absolutely appalling that he didn't attempt to get the police involved,so ergo leaving these Scumbags to "Strike again".
For goodness sake,why do people think they can handle this their own way..it beggars belief.
The next "Victim" could be in a worse position and get killed.
As for the Police presence..they are all at Lakeside for the Olympic Park and Ride facility I believe!
