Police appeal for witnesses after serious crash

A MAN was airlifted to hospital after a serious crash in Basildon.
Police have appealed for information following the road crash which happened near Dunton incident happened at 5.40pm on Friday (August 3).
It was at Dunton Road, between the A127 and Billericay Road.
A red Toyota MR2 was travelling from the A127 towards Billericay Road when the driver lost control and the vehicle overturned.
The driver, a 32-year-old man from the Basildon area, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital where his condition is described as critical but stable.
A 63-year-old woman from the Brentwood area, who was a passenger in the car, was taken to Queens Hospital with a neck injury. Her condition is not considered life-threatening.
The road was closed for about six hours for police investigations and recovery of the vehicle.
Any witnesses or anyone with information about events leading to the incident should contact investigating officer Pc Mark Howard at Chigwell on 101.
