THURROCK’s latest lottery winner has come forward to collect their cheque.

The lucky resident, whose identity is being closely guarded by Camelot, won £1,000,000 on the Euromillions Raffle draw on Friday, July 27, but had not come forward to collect it until now.

The draw, on the opening night of the Olympics, made 100 UK millionaires, and the ticket bought in Thurrock, was one of seven nationally which had yet to be claimed.

There are still five people who haven’t come forward.

A spokesman for The National Lottery said: “We’re delighted that the winner of this amazing prize has now come forward and can begin to enjoy their win.

“As well as becoming an overnight millionaire, the ticket-holder is also part of a world record that The National Lottery is very proud to have broken.

“However, there are still five prizes from the draw waiting to be claimed so we would like to remind all National Lottery players to check their tickets so they don’t miss out on a life-changing prize.”
