Convicted paedophile caught lurking at kids' karate club

A PAEDOPHILE who sexually assaulted two young boys has been caught again after he was spotted taking pictures of children at a karate club open day.

Timothy Edmeades, 37, mingled with the likes of Basildon mayor Mo Larkin and MP Stephen Metcalfe at the Maru Karate Kai Club open day in Luncies Road, Pitsea in imnages captured by the Echo.

He was at the event in his role working as a volunteer for the Basildon Heritage Club and has been at several other events in the borough where children have been present.

Edmeades was jailed in 2008 for sexually assaulting and grooming two young boys. He was also banned from being alone with or working alongside children.

Surely, as a volunteer he would have had to have a CRB check if working with kids?

You wouldnt need a crb check to volunteer for an open day, its a few hours, a crb costs money

Disgusting piece of filth, they should all hang as far as I am concerned. And local politicians really need to be careful what company they keep and be much better judges of character than they are. Look at the track record of local and national politicians nowadays.. constantly involved in public rows and haranguing and accusing their local voters. I watched a video of some Tory councillor a few weeks ago slagging off a woman in the public gallery. TERRIBLE manners. It's time local politics became more dignified and careful what it gets itself involved with. And National politics needs to take the lead.

CRB is about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike. It does not take account of the fact that this sort of filth has never been caught so therefore has no police record.

Read this link, last time he was in court someone gave him and kicking. Pity they stopped. So he was convicted and obviously lied on application and no checks carried out.
