A YOUNG man and a teenager have been arrested after a man was stabbed in Pitsea .

The victim, a man in his 40s, was rushed to hospital after suffering a stab wound to the stomach.

A member of the public raised the alarm after finding the man at Malgraves at around 12:30am on Wednesday September 26.

The attack is thought to have happened shortly beforehand on a footpath or street between Marlgraves and Wimbish End.

Police have arrested a 25-year-old man from Basildon and a 15-year-old boy from east London on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

Both have been bailed until October 26 pending further enquiries.

The victim was allowed home after treatment, however officers are now appealing for anyone with information on the incident to come forward.

Investigating officer DC Nick May said: "The victim said that he was attacked by a white man, about 5ft 5in tall, of slim build and he was wearing a black jacket.

"We cannot be sure of the precise location of the incident except that it was somewhere between the two roads, Malgraves and Wimbish End.

"We want to hear from any witnesses or anyone with information about any sort of argument or disturbance that developed in the area between 12.15am and 12.30am or with information about anyone matching the description.”
