So are we led to believe that people are wandering the streets of Pitsea at 04.30 with hammers looking to rob others or was this bloke targetted?

as well as there being a 'w' missing from 'as asleep' there isn't a pub in Rectory Road, Pitsea.

Please do better Echo.
