RESIDENTS want to know the fate of a former church and parish hall after no decision was taken over plans to demolish it and build a block of flats.
The Diocese of Chelmsford closed All Saints Church community hall in Crays Hill in April 2011 before submitting plans to replace it with a block of six two-bedroom flats last November.
However, Basildon Council has yet to reach a decision over the proposals despite the target determination date being in January.
David McPherson-Davis, a Ramsden Crays parish councillor, said: “The decision is well overdue and as a parish council we have not been able to get any real answers from the council or diocese about what has happened.”
A council spokesman said: "We are currently awaiting confirmation from the applicant as to whether they wish to have the application determined as it stands or intend to withdraw the application."
