ARMED cops swooped to arrest two men accused of conspiring to supply £5million worth of cocaine.
The two men are alleged to have been planning to supply 24 kilos of the Class A drug and it is the largest amount ever recovered by Essex Police.
Their appearance at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court came after one of the men was arrested by police in a gunpoint raid on a home in Carlton Road in Bowers Gifford on Saturday.
The two men are alleged to have been planning to supply 24 kilos of the Class A drug worth an estimated £5million.
The drugs haul is the largest ever amount of cocaine to be recovered by Essex Police and came after a six-month long investigation by the force’s detectives although details were only being released this afternoon.
Stone mason Luke Shubert, 30, of Pound Lane, Pitsea was arrested at a home in Carlton Road on Saturday while 29-year-old builder Richard Gamon of Link Road, Canvey was arrested on the A12 at Ardleigh in Colchester.
