THERE will be another live music and Picnic in the Park event on the Welland Parish Playing Fields for Help for Heroes on Saturday, August 17, from 6pm (all proceeds going to Help for Heroes).

Tickets are £4 per adult or £10 for a family ticket (two adults and up to three children).

Please bring your own seating. There will be a bar and some food available. At least three live bands confirmed.

The next car boot at the Welland Recreation Ground will be on Sunday, August 18. Gates are open from 11am. Please obey the marshals when parking and keep all thoroughfares open.

There will be cream teas served in St James church.

from 3pm to 5pm in August.

Events coming up for the church: Just Clobber will be closed for the whole of August.

September 14 sees the annual Friends of Welland Dog Show taking place on Spittalfields/Recreation Ground.

Further details will be available later on.

On September 14 and 15, between 10am to 5pm, as part of the Festival of Churches, St James’ church will be open for A Miscellany of Interest and Entertainment.

The widely acclaimed reordered church interior will welcome visitors.

A local artist’s mural of the Malvern Hills and a rare 17th century travelling font can be viewed in the side chapel.

There will be some organ music on Saturday afternoon; instrumental music and singing on Sunday afternoon.

Cream teas will be available both afternoons.

On September 28 and 29, Tony Leahy’s exhibition of paintings will take place in the church.

More community concerts etc later in the year but I will keep you informed.

The weekend of November 16 and 17 sees the St James Christmas Craft Fair in Welland.

The tables cost £15 for the weekend or £10 per day.
