POLICE are continuing to quiz a man about two sex attacks in Laindon.
The 39-year-old, from Basildon, was arrested yesterday, on suspicion of sexual assault.
In the first incident, a 23-year-old woman was approached by a man as she walked in an alleyway near Spire Road, Laindon, at 8pm, on Saturday, February 21.
He tried to talk to her, before grabbing her by the hair and punching her in the stomach. Two men heard what was going on and came to her aid.
The attacker ran off.
About 15 minutes later, a 16-year-old girl was approached near a bus stop in Hatterill, close to the railway station, by a man who tried to speak to her.
He tried to drag her into bushes before two men intervened and he ran off.
The arrested man was still being questioned by detectives last night.
