A fast food delivery driver was robbed at knifepoint after being lured to a false address.

The 35-year-old man from Honchurch received a call asking for food to be delivered to an address in Southfield Road, Grays, at about 9.10pm on Sunday, April 5.

However, the address did not exist, and he was told to go to the end of Fairfield Avenue, in Grays, where he was robbed at knifepoint, where they took £100 - plus the food.

DC Clive Gray, from Grays CID, said: "This address does not actually exist.

"The victim called the customer’s number and was told to drive to the end of Fairfield Avenue, where they would meet him.

"When the victim arrived, he was met by a group of about five young males and handed the food to one of the group.

"Two of the boys placed knives to the left and right hand side of his body while a third stole about £100 cash from his pocket .

"The group then ran away into the estate.”

The suspects are believed to be aged in their late teens.

Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to call Dc Day on 101.
