Tributes to mum-of-four killed in A127 crash

THE devastated family of a mum-of-four killed in a road smash have spoken of their heartache.

Michelle Williams, 38, died when she crashed into the back of a parked lorry in a lay-by on the A127 near Basildon, leaving her three-year-old daughter critically ill in hospital.

She had been visiting relatives in Wickford and was on her way back home to north Wales when the accident happened last Wednesday at 4.30am.

Mrs Williams was driving her red Renault Megane along the London-bound carriageway just past the A128 Brentwood junction when it ploughed into the back of the lorry.

Her daughter Ruby Angharad was badly injured in the crash and remains at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London in a critical but stable condition.

Dad Paul Williams has been at her bedside since the crash.

Her family said in a statement: “Words can’t describe how we feel at this moment, we are all just so upset.

“Paul is with Ruby and we are waiting for more news. Her condition has stabilised, but is still very serious.”

The driver of the lorry, who was asleep in his cab, was not injured in the crash, which closed both lanes of the London-bound carriageway.
