A MODEL is getting ready to rumble by swapping photo shoots for power slams as she aims for a career as a wrestler.

Ambitious Carly Thornton, 30 is about to fight for a contract with giant sports company World Wrestling Entertainment.

The Billericay-based fitness model will be aiming to smackdown at the WWE try-outs in Liverpool in November.

She admits the opportunity to be involved in the razzmatazz world of Ame-rican wrestling would be a life-changing experience.

Former Billericay School student Carly, said: “If I get taken on by WWE, I will be off to Miami to do the training, and then I will go from there.

“It would be absolutely fantastic if I was offered a contract.

“I do like wrestling, I love all action sports.

“I have no experience of actual wrestling, but I’ve done boxing and mixed martial arts.

“I also went to drama school, so I am an entertainer.

“I have tried out for Gladiators in the past.”

If Carly is taken on by the sports entertainment giant, she will become a WWE diva.

The divas act as the company’s glamour girls, who work as both wrestlers and as valets for male wrestlers.

It would be change for the model, who is also a TV presenter on the Active Channel and will be a judge at the forthcoming National Fitness Awards.

Carly was also recently unveiled as a new ambassador for the sports nutrition company USN.

If she’s makes it through the try-outs, Carly could one day find herself in the same ring among WWE superstars such as CM Punk and well known diva, Beth Phoenix.
