A WOMAN’S life was saved by her cycle helmet after a serious crash on a busy roundabout in Stanford le Hope.
The 30-year-old cyclist was in collision with a grey Citroen Xsara Picasso on the roundabout near the junction of The Manorway and the A13 just after 9am on Friday.
She was revived at the scene by paramedics at the scene and was taken to Basildon Hospital suffering from head and back injuries.
Bradley Lane, the duty operations manager who attended the incident, said the woman’s life was saved by her cycle helmet, which was split in two as she hit the ground.
He said: “Things could have been much, much worse if it wasn’t for her wearing one, basically her life was saved by that helmet. She suffered concussion but the helmet was split in two.”
