Flooding causes tailbacks for motorists

FLOODING caused delays for rush-hour motorists as some water-logged roads had to be shut.

In Basildon Eastmayne was closed for a short time early on Monday morning between Paycocke Road and Nevendon Road due to heavy flooding.

The road eventually re-opened around 8am but the temporary closure caused lengthy delays for motorists trying to join the A127.

all the flooding is council negligence of the drains everywhere, when was the last time you saw the sludge gulpers clearing the drains unless theres a problem or flood

Don't know where you live, but we had persistent rain in Benfleet for about 8 hours.

The trouble with where it flooded in East Mayne is the road dips and there aren't any drains. It used to do this when there were only two lanes. I would've thought it was an ideal time to have put an extra drain in when they widened it to three lanes and stop this flooding..

My daughter is in Thailand at the moment and she is in photos of the rainwater running down the centre of the towns about a foot deep. This is normal for them each time it rains yet in this country we get a small amount of localised flooding due to a bit of rain and the news is ranting that we have bad floods. Ha this is not bad floods. Bad floods is what they get in places like new orleans.
