CONCERNED residents are being invited to get their comments in quick before the closure of the public consultation on the future of the Deanes School.
Essex County Council is currently undertaking a six-week consultation on whether or not to close the specialist sports college, in Daws Heath Road, Thundersley due to depleting pupil numbers.
With just a week to go until it finishes on Monday July 22, the authority is encouraging people to make sure they have submitted their views.
County councillor Ray Gooding, who will have the final say on the decision, said: “I want to hear from all interested parties and would encourage anyone who has yet to respond to the consultation to do so. It is important to me that all views are considered and so I wouldn’t want anyone to miss out.”
The Deanes School consultation document is available at http://tinyurl.com/EssexCC-Consultations
The consultation runs for six weeks and closes at midnight.
Interested parties are encouraged to respond to the consultation via the online form at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/thedeanesschool
