SHOPPERS looked on as sea cadets paraded proudly through Basildon Town Centre.
Members of the Basildon Sea Cadets were joined by other local military organisations as they took part in a special sea parade in front of shoppers. The youngsters, who meet each week at their headquarters in Whitmore Way, Basildon, marched from outside Toys R Us in the town centre along to St Martin’s Square, where they were greeted by a line of VIP military dignitaries.
As well as members from Basildon and Pitsea branches of the Royal British Legion, the Thurrock Burma Star organisation also took part in the event, with members marching the distance brandishing their traditional fixed bayonets.
