OUTSTANDING pupils were celebrating after receiving awards for their hard work.
More than 20 Year 6 pupils at Sunnymede Junior School, in Meadow Way, Billericay, were recognised by awards given by the school governors.
The children, aged ten and 11, were given certificates for achievement, effort and improvement.
Billericay MP John Baron presented the awards to the children, who are now leaving for secondary school.
Karen Cooke, headteacher, said: “The children were thrilled to bits because it is a recognition of how hard they’ve worked.
“But the awards are also inspiring for the younger children, too.”
