ROBBERS threatened to stab two teenagers unless they handed over their mobile phones.

The two boys, aged 16 and 19, were at Basildon railway station when they were approached by two men.

The robbers threatened to stab them if the boys didn’t do as they said.

One of the terrified boys handed over his mobile and the pair fled with their haul.

Police said no weapon was seen in the attack and they are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Sunita Kuchala, of British Transport Police, said: “We are appealing for anyone in the area at the time of the attack who may have seen anything suspicious to come forward as we want to hear from them.

“This has now been handed to our specialist East London robbery squad who are investigating.”

Both of the robbers were men, one black the other white.

Both wore hoodies and dark-coloured trousers.

Witnesses to the robbery, which happened at 12.30am yesterday, can contact officers at the BTP robbery squad on 0800 405040.
