A NEW vintage clothes shop has opened with a party in Southend.
As the drink flowed at Threads Atomic Dustbin, in Clifftown Road, some guests took the opportunity to snap up some of the clothes.
Owner Stevie Millington, said getting the shop up and running was a dream come true after two years of hard work.
She said: “This is what I’ve always wanted to do. I can’t believe it’s actually open.
“It’s kind of scary, but really exciting.”
Stevie, 22, of Nelson Drive, Leigh, came up the idea for the shop while working as an air hostess.
After journeying to Los Angeles to find suppliers, she finally quit her job in May to follow her dream.
Stevie said: “I’ve always thought there was a gap in the market for new vintage clothes.
“People want something that looks vintage but trendy, something they can wear in the street. Hopefully that’s what I’ve got on offer here.
“A few people actually bought stuff at the party, so maybe offering free beer is the way to get them in.”
