FIRE chiefs have promised there will be no job cuts as a result of their controversial overhaul of services in Essex.
Chief Fire Officer David Johnson reassured firefighters in the county none of them would lose their jobs and no fire engines would be taken off the front line following the conclusion of the integrated risk management plan review.
Leaders of the Fire Brigades’ Union said they feared jobs would be lost and services cut because of the plans.
Mr Johnson did outline plans to remove trained crews from aerial ladder platforms, which are sent out to fires over four-storeys high.
Mr Johnson said: “There will be no redundancies or job losses as a result of this."
