A WOMAN was threatened at knifepoint after raiders forced their way into her home.

Two men turned up on her doorstep in Woolmer Green, Basildon, and smashed the glass panel in the front door causing £150 damage.

They then reached through and unlocked the door.

The terrified woman ran up the stairs, but was chased by the armed raiders who threatened her with the knife.

They then ransacked her home to search for valuables, but the pair eventually fled empty-handed, leaving the woman shaken, but uninjured. Following the attack residents told of their shock.

Police do not currently have a description of the two men who launched the attack.
