THIEVES have been preying on shoppers who visit Canvey's supermarkets.
Police have issued images of two men they bellieve have been purse dipping in the area.
One recent offence took place about 2.30pm on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Morrisons, Canvey Island when a purse containing £120 in cash, and bank and credit cards was stolen.
PC Tom Jackson, of Canvey police, said: " I would like to remind people that purses should not be left visible when shopping, and bags should be secured so that opportunist thieves are denied the chance to steal." Anyone with information that could help identify the men is asked to call police at Canvey on 101, where the officer dealing is Pc Tom Jackson, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
