BARRY Corr wants to finish his fantastic goal-scoring week in style by again hitting the back of the net when Southend United visit his former Exeter City side tomorrow.

The tall targetman bagged braces against both Brentford and Oxford United in Blues’ last two games.

And he is now seeking more of the same against the Grecians at St. James Park as Paul Sturrock’s side seek a return to winning ways against their play-off rivals.

“I’ve been pleased with how things have gone for me so far this week and it would be great to get another goal at the weekend because it’s an important game for both teams,” said Corr, 27.

“It’s hard here at the moment because if you’re not in the first team then you don’t really get games because there’s no reserve side.

“I’m probably still only about 70 or 80 per cent fit but I’ve got my chance in the team due to Britt Assombalonga getting injured and I was determined to take it.

“I’ve got four goals in two games and I’ll be fine to play again tomorrow.

“There’s no worries about me playing for a third time in such a short space of time and it would be great to get on the score-sheet again.”

Blues make the long trip to Exeter sitting sixth in the League Two table, just one point and place below their hosts.

But Corr hopes to overtake the Grecians with a win this weekend and has happy memories of facing his former side after scoring against them in September about 18 months out injured.

“It went well when we played them before and hopefully it can do so again,” said Corr.

“They’re a good team so it will be tough but we have great delivery coming in to the box and the moment and that’s certainly helping.

“I was among those concerned when Ryan Hall left because his delivery was fantastic and he had set up quite a lot of my goals.

“But the gaffer knows his players and brought in Kevan Hurst whose delivery has also been first class.

“Sean Clohessy and Chris Barker have also been putting in some very good crosses and that’s what I thrive on because I’m not the type of player to suddenly beat three men and score.

“I need to have the right kind of service and that’s certainly been the case in the last few games.”
