GREAT Wakering continued their pre-season preparations with a 4-2 win at Olympian side White Ensign.
The talented Hamid Zamani gave Ensign an early lead, but goals from Rovers’ player-manager Dan Trenkel and Aaron Baldwin put them in front before Zamani’s expert finish made it 2-2 at the break.
Dan Williams scored from a Dave Collins corner to put the hosts back in front after the restart and Jay Smith made it 4-2 late on after he was set-up by former Southend Manor team-mate Max Kent.
Trenkel said: “It was great to score a few goals and generally look creative.”
Hullbridge Sports picked up an impressive pre-season scalp with a 1-0 win over Ryman One North heavyweights Maldon & Tiptree.
Sean Savage scored the only goal of the game for the Bridge Boys.
And days after turning out for Billericay Town in a friendly, Yew Danso scored Southend Manor’s goal as they were held to a 1-1 draw against Rayleigh Town at Seevic College.
