Concord Rangers expecting tough tie with St Ives Town
Concord Rangers start their FA Cup campaign tomorrow with Cambridgeshire’s St Ives Town travelling to the Aspect Arena.
The Beachboys will be looking to keep up a positive start to the season which has seen them climb to 10th place in the Conference South.
But Concord manager Danny Cowley knows only too well that the game is a potential banana skin.
“It is going to a tough game and probably the first time this year we'll go into a match as favourites,” Cowley said.
“At the start of the season one of the objectives we set out was to have a good run in the FA Cup and it will be a nice break from the league.
“St Ives are a progressive side, but we will make sure we are as prepared the best we possibly can be."
Concord head into the match with doubts over Jason Hallett, who is battling flu, and Reece Harris.
Striker Tony Stokes is expected to be out for a few more weeks as he recovers from cartilage damage.
Cowley’s men made it to the same round last season where they lost 2-1 in a replay against eventual Conference South champions Welling United.
