DAN Trenkel took over at the top of the Essex Senior League goalscorers’ standings with his 15th of the season.

The Great Wakering Rovers player/manager netted the league leaders’ third goal as they walloped London APSA 4-1 at Burroughs Park.

But Rovers, who are ahead of Tower Hamlets by virtue of their vastly superior goal difference, had to come from behind against APSA.

Jason Agyekum put the visitors ahead from the penalty spot a minute before half time.

Lewis Sparrow got Wakering on terms in the 62nd minute before David Collins put the hosts in front after 76 minutes.

Trenkel got his 15th of the season in the 86th minute before Billy Johnson netted Rovers’ fourth two minutes later.

Basildon United are ninth following their 3-1 defeat away to second-placed Tower Hamlets.

Kane Wilson put the hosts in front in the second minute and Luke With scored his 14th goal of the season in the 44th minute.

Isaac Aubyn put Hamlets 3-0 up in the 68th minute before Angelo Ogunseye netted an 83rd minute consolation for the Bees from the penalty spot.

Bowers & Pitsea moved up to 10th after beating Clapton 1-0 away.

George Smith got the only goal of the game in the 45th minute as Bowers moved to within seven points of ninth-placed Clapton.

Hullbridge Sports are 14th following their goalless draw with Eton Manor at Lower Road.

And Southend Manor got a point at Southchurch Park after holding fifth-placed Haringey Borough to a goalless stalemate.
