Great Wakering Rovers set for Greenhouse mission in Essex Senior League

First published in Sport by

GREAT Wakering Rovers know a win at Greenhouse London tomorrow will leave them just needing to win at Basildon United on the final day to win the title.

Wakering are on a roll at the moment and will be expected to roll over a Greenhouse side who are third from bottom of the table.

The Londonders missed the chance to warm up for the game on Wednesday night when their scheduled game with Basildon United was called off because the Bees were unable to field a team.

The Bees, who travel to London Bari at the minute, are going through another period of upheaval following the news that chairman Paul Smith has quit the club and been made a director at Canvey Island FC.

Basildon had forged good links with Canvey this season, with a number of the Gulls younger players spending time at Gardiners Close.

Out-of-sorts Southend Manor are counting down the days to the season ends and they travel to another struggling side, Ilford, tomorrow.

Fresh from their morale-boosting 5-1 win over Tower Hamlets on Tuesday night, Bowers & Pitsea host FC Romania.
