CONCORD Rangers boss Danny Cowley has urged influential midfielder James White to “assess all the options” before agreeing a deal with Dover Athletic.

The Kent side were promoted to the Conference South last season and expressed an interest in bringing 25-year-old midfielder White to the Crabble Athletic Ground.

Leigh-based White enjoyed a successful season at Concord, popping up with the winning goal in the Essex Senior Cup final.

As well as cup success, the Beachboys enjoyed a stellar league campaign, finishing ninth in their first ever season at Conference South level.

“Dover have put an offer on the table and it is a very good offer,” said Cowley.

“However, James White loves this club which should not be underestimated. He is settled here and, with Dover’s promotion to Conference National there will be a lot more demanded of James.

“I don’t want him to make a rushed decision, but I would love James to stay.”

Cowley added he was looking to add to his squad but was finding it difficult on the club’s tight budget.

“We have the smallest budget in the league,” he said. “It is like banging my head against a brick wall at times but we will continue to go and look for the best deals.

“We won’t rush into anything but there are plenty of good players out there and it is about making the right decisions for everyone at Concord.”
