CONCORD Rangers favourite Nicky Cowley has ended his playing career to fill the assistant manager's void at the club.

Cowley revealed to the Echo today that he would be replacing Glen Alzapiedi, after he stepped down as Danny Cowley’s number two to take over at Cheshunt yesterday.

The younger brother described the move as ‘a natural progression’.
