FA Cup 1st Qualifying Round
Billericay Town 4-0 Hadleigh United
AN impressive first half performance ensured Billericay Town's name will be in the hat for the next round.
Goals from Glenn Poole, Steve Sheehan Chris Benjamin and Ricky Sappleton were enough to see Town past Thurlow Nunn Premier Division team Hadleigh United.
Rowan Liburd made a long awaited debut for Craig Edwards’ side and was involved in the opening goal after six minutes.
He linked up well with Chris Benjamin and fans favourite Glenn Poole dinked the ball over the keeper.
Before 10 minutes were on the clock it was 2-0, with Steve Sheehan netting his second for the club from a Poole free-kick.
Benjamin got the goal his play deserved 10 minutes before the break, running from deep to shoot home.
Town missed a host of second half chances, with Benjamin particularly guilty, and it was his new strike partner Sappleton who added a fourth off the bench.
Billericay: Lumley, O’Hanlon, Halle, Sheehan, Beavan (Shaw), Appiah, Poole Edwards, Neita (Webber), Liburd (Sappleton), Benjamin.
