Bowers & Pitsea are hoping to return to winning ways when they play their first league game in a month tomorrow.

Rob Small’s side have not played in the league since they drew 0-0 with Barking on Saturday, August 23 due to a busy cup schedule, but they are now playing catch up in the league with four games in hand over rivals Hullbridge Sports.

Bowers are unbeaten in their first three league games but face a tough trip to Waltham Forest tomorrow, who were relegated from the Ryman North last term.

Ex-Witham Town hotshot Rob Whitnell is suspended for the clash while goalkeeper Sean Hinton, who suffered a head injury in last Saturday’s FA Cup defeat, is also out after having six stitches. Jason Baker is expected to deputise.

Hullbridge, on the back of two straight wins, travel to rivals Southend Manor. Sports beat Stansted on the road on Tuesday and will be confident of following that up against Wayne Seal’s men, who have only won once this campaign.

Manor have drawn their last two league matches 0-0 but will be looking to hit the target against Dan Braney’s men. They were knocked out of the Essex Senior Cup on Wednesday – losing 4-1 at home to Barking.

Basildon United will be looking for their first win since a 2-1 success at Waltham Forest last month. Since then Colin Cook’s men have exited four cup competitions before drawing with Stansted last time out. They were most recently beaten in the Gordon Brasted Memorial Trophy – losing 2-1 to Eton Manor.

They play Clapton, who are sitting fourth in the division, at the TLM Stadium but strikers Jordan Williams, Craig Gillam and Mitchell Eustace are all out.
