BASILDON United manager Colin Cook has resigned from his post at the club.
The club released a statement after today’s 4-1 loss to Clapton, their fifth loss in six league and cup matches, saying Cook had taken the decision to step down himself – due to work commitments.
Cook’s assistant manager Craig Gillam has taken over the role.
Cook took over at the Bees at the end of last season, and said he was looking forward to playing ‘without pressure’, but that pressure has now told after two victories in 10 games.
The club released a statement this evening.
“Due to work commitments, Colin Cook has decided to step down from his position as manager. He will be replaced by Craig Gillam, who will be assisted by Wayne Franklin.
“The club would like to thank Colin for all his work both on and off the field and hope that, work permitting, he will still be a regular visitor to Gardiners Close.”
