Wealdstone 1-1 Concord Rangers
FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round
From the St George’s Stadium
JOE Gardner headed a late leveller to ensure Concord Rangers FA Cup journey didn't end at the first hurdle at Wealdstone.
It seemed as though the Beachboys were down and out but Danny Cowley’s men dug in and grabbed their goal five minutes into added on time, as the midfielder leapt highest to send the away fans home happy.
It was looking ominous after Joe Turner had put the hosts in front before the half-time whistle. It was Joe Turner who grabbed the goal, firing across Jamie Butler into the net after a loose clearance fell to him on the edge of the box.
Wealdstone could have made the game safe long before the equaliser came when a Turner header was well saved by Butler.
Concord had several opportunities to draw level but it wasn’t until Gardner’s intervention that they got their equaliser.
The draw ensures the two will lock horns for the third time in as many weeks tomorrow at the Aspect Arena.
Concord Rangers: Butler, Glozier, Woodyard (Miles), King, Fry, Cawley, White, Ogilvie (Gardner), Stokes (Taaffe), Collins
