BEN Coker is due to have the brace protecting his injured elbow removed in the next fortnight.
The Shrimpers left-back has been out of action since early September.
But his manager Phil Brown has been pleased by the progress already made by the defender.
“Ben will probably have his brace off in the next couple of weeks and then he will be up and running again,” said Brown.
“Cokes is certainly looking the part. He’s still only has about six or seven per cent body fat so with a bit of luck when he does get out there he will be able to return sooner rather than later. “
