HOLDERS Concord Rangers host League One Colchester United in the pick of the Essex Senior Cup games tonight.

Fresh from making history at the weekend by reaching the FA Cup First Round for the first time, the Beachboys take on the in-form U’s at the Aspect Arena.

The U’s are expected to bring a young side to Canvey for tonight’s game with the highly thought of Macauley Bonne, who has scored two goals for Colchester’s first team, likely to be the biggest name on show.

The two teams met in this competition in February 2012 when Colchester ran out comfortable 4-0 winners.

Concord have been promoted into the Conference South and won the Essex Senior Cup since then so this will be a good test to see how far Danny Cowley’s men have come in the past two-and-a-half years.

Elsewhere in the senior cup tonight, Bowers & Pitsea boss Rob Small takes his side to face his former club Burnham Ramblers.

And Small will fancy his chances of getting one over his old employers with Burnham currently struggling right at the foot of the Ryman Division One North table and his side going well in the Essex Senior League.

Great Wakering Rovers face Ryman One North rivals Romford at Burroughs Park and will take confidence from the last time the two sides met.

Dan Trenkel’s men won their first league game back in Ryman One North in August when they crushed Romford 3-0 away from home.

In the Essex Senior League tonight, Hullbridge Sports face struggling Eton Manor at Lower Road.

After a bright start to the season, Sports have stalled a bit in the past weeks, only picking up one point from their last three games, so will be looking to get back on track against a Manor side third from bottom of the table.

Hullbridge will be without captain Rob Hodgson but new striker Charlie Little, signed from Southend Manor, will be available for his new side.
