CONCORD Rangers will travel to Cambridge United in the Second Round of the FA Cup…if they can beat Mansfield Town next Tuesday.
The draw was made live on the BBC last night and the Beachboys, first tie out of the hat last time, were made to wait before they drew the U’s.
Currently 14th in League Two, Cambridge were promoted from the Conference last season but Concord manager Danny Cowley says there is a long way to go before a potential tie at the Abbey Stadium, on the weekend of December 6/7.
“We have got to play Mansfield first and that is tough enough,” said Cowley, who was watching this weekend’s opponents Boreham Wood last night. “Cambridge are a good side who won the FA Trophy last year and were one of the best sides in non-league as well.
“But we won’t even contemplate that match just yet. But it will be nice going to Mansfield knowing there is potentially another big prize at the end of it.”
Concord’s match against the Stags was postponed on Saturday due to a waterlogged pitch.
