Vange's Stuart Bingham to launch UK Championship campaign tonight
STUART Bingham gets his UK Championship campaign underway tonight.
The Vange snooker star takes on Thanawat Tirapongpaiboon, a young Thai player, in York in Round One of the tournament, having enjoyed a successful season to date.
Bingham was knocked out in the sixth round of the Ruhr Open on Sunday and has already picked up title wins in Shanghai and Haining this season.
The UK Championship has attracted great attention, with 7,000 tickets already sold, with sales up 20 per cent on last year.
Bingham gets underway at 7.30pm.
