Billericay Town 2-1 Brentwood Town
Ryman League Cup
From New Lodge
Billericay Town overcome rivals Brentwood Town to make it into round three of the Ryman League Cup.
Billericay won 2-1 against the team fighting at the top of Ryman One North, with goals from Rowan Liburd and Richard Halle enough to secure their passage.
The match started slowly, with both sides limited to half chances in the first period before three goals in the space of ten minutes.
First Liburd hit his first for the club, heading in well after a freekick from Glenn Poole found the striker.
But only minutes later the visitors were level, with stand-in captain Sam Bantick’s cross-shot finding its way into the far corner.
But up-stepped Halle, as he notched his 11th goal of the season, blasting home from 20 yards after exchanging passes with the impressive Liburd.
Billericay will face fellow Ryman Premier side and rivals AFC Hornchurch in the third round.
