Dulwich Hamlet 3-3 East Thurrock United

From Champion Hill

Ryman Premier League

A LAST-GASP strike from Ross Parmenter rescued a point for East Thurrock United against fellow play-off hopefuls Dulwich Hamlet.

Rocks had twice taken the lead against fourth-placed Dulwich through Mitchell Gilbey, only for the home team to peg them back on two occasions and take the lead going into the dying moments.

But John Coventry’s side never gave up and Parmenter had the last laugh.

East Thurrock got themselves in front after only three minutes, when Gilbey was on hand to strike home in front of a crowd of almost 1,000 supporters.

Dulwich had been on a rotten run of form recently, despite their lofty league position, and had only won one of their last five games.

But they bounced back well to equalise, albeit the final touch coming off the unfortunate Rocks defender Ben Wood.

Two minutes later, East Thurrock were back in front and it was the same man who got it, Gilbey in the right place at the right time to score.

That was the score at half-time but on the hour mark the match was level once again, Ashley Carew netting from the penalty spot after an infringement in the area.

And it seemed as though Rocks had thrown it away at the end, when Carew slotted home again from the spot in the 90th minute.

But from the kick-off Rocks drew level and sit only two points off the top five.
