Wroxham 1-1 Great Wakering Rovers

GREAT Wakering Rovers picked up a fine away point at high-flying Wroxham to give their relegation fight a shot in the arm.

A late equaliser from Tony Jacobs ensured the visitors took home a share of the spoils, after another inspired display from Rovers stopper Adam Seal kept them in the game for much of the contest.

Rovers won their first game in six games last time out against fellow-relegation fighters Barkingside, but knew a game against fifth-placed Wroxham would be a much tougher test.

Their hardest game remaining on paper, Rovers took the game to Wroxham although they were indebted to Seal, who kept out Christy Finch and Remy Gordon on more than one occasion.

Jay Nash had a great chance to give Rovers the lead but his acrobatic effort was kept out, and they were made to pay when Jamie Forshaw did get the goal that put Wroxham ahead.

It looked as though that would be enough for the hosts but it was not to be as speedy winger Jacobs burst through to slot home well.

The result moves Rovers eight points clear of the relegation zone.
