Weston-Super-Mare 1-2 Concord Rangers

From the Woodspring Stadium

Conference South

STEVE King crashed home a 90th minute winner to hand Concord Rangers the points and lift to within four points of the play-offs.

The club captain was on hand to put the Beach Boys back in front against Weston, only five minutes after the hosts had levelled the match.

Concord had taken the lead early on, and it was quite a goal.

Taylor Miles, who is enjoying an extended run in the side, scored it after a tremendous jinking run, in which he beat three men and nutmegged another on his way to the goal.

Concord made the long journey west aiming to avenge the 5-0 thrashing they suffered at the hands of Weston last term, and were confident of doing so on the back of 12 matches unbeaten in league and cup.

And they started this match well, although struggled to break down a resilient home defence.

Lewis Taaffe, working tirelessly, was causing the Weston defence no end of problems but it was another diminutive figure that put the away side in charge, as former West Ham United youngster Miles went on a run and blasted home.

Back came Weston and they looked like they have taken a share of the spoils when Jordan Tillson found the net.

But it was Concord that had the last laugh, as King scored and sent the Beach Boys fans home happy.
