ESSEX SENIOR LEAGUE: Bowers & Pitsea host Ilford tonight as they bid to bounce back from the disappointment of drawing with Clapton on Saturday.
Rob Small’s men have won 15 of the last 17 games in all competitions to continue their outside hopes of winning the league title.
But Saturday’s draw against Clapton left Bowers 22 points off top spot, albeit with eight games in hand.
They welcome Ilford to the Len Salmon Stadium, but are without Luke Wilson (broken hand). Title favourites Haringey Borough coming to visit on Thursday.
Hullbridge Sports host Stansted in a game that promises to be a keenly fought encounter.
Sports are one place above the side visiting Lower Road, with the home team’s superior goal difference all that separates the teams.
Mark Bliss’ team didn’t play on Saturday and will be hoping Stansted’s exertions, a thoroughly surprising 5-1 reverse against bottom side Sporting Bengal United, will work in their favour.
