BOWERS & Pitsea kept up their faint title hopes with a narrow 1-0 win over Ilford.
A header late on from Luca Frankis handed the hosts the points in a tense encounter. He headed home from a Martin Llewellyn free-kick, while the same man had earlier seen a goal chalked off for offside.
The result sees them move into third position.
Elsewhere, Hullbridge Sports won 2-1 against Stansted to give them a tighter grip on fifth position.
Sports were only separated from their opponents by goal difference before the game but a brace from Luke Hornsley was enough for the win.
It was goalless at the break, but Hornsley took advantage of a fresh air kick by the Stansted goalkeeper to score.
Hornsley shot wide before the same man was brought down in the box for a penalty. He picked himself up to score before Sports scored with a goal of their own.
The result leaves them fifth, with their sights set on fourth.
