Great Wakering Rovers 4-0 Thamesmead Town
From Burroughs Park
Ryman One North
GREAT Wakering Rovers all but secured their Ryman One North status with a crushing win over Thamesmead Town.
A brace from Jay Nash and goals from Tom Ranger and Tom Strickland proved too hot for the Mead to handle.
Rovers have now surpassed the points total that manager Dan Trenkel set at the start of the month, having targeted 47 points as the amount that will keep them safe.
But it took 41 minutes for Wakering to break the deadlock and it was Nash that got the goal. A fine cross fell to the striker and he headed home to give Rovers the lead.
It was doubled on the hour mark through marauding midfielder Ranger. The youngster picked up the ball and lashed left-footed across the keeper the score.
Strickland scored the third goal as he lashed high beyond the keeper and Nash made sure of the win after more good work from Strickland.
His effort was blocked and Nash was on hand to take him to 20 goals for the season.
Great Wakering Rovers: Seal, Pugsley, Sparrow, Worrell, Slater, Skelton, Bradley, Jacobs (Radley), Ranger (Skeels), Nash, Sands
