THE Bowers & Pitsea machine rumbled on as they demolished Newham 7-0 to keep pace at the top of the table.

The home side were no match for Rob Small’s men, who took the lead early on when Luke Wilson’s throw and Vinny Durrant’s cross led to Tom Hine to rise unmarked and head home.

Wilson himself headed home number two before Jamie Salmon profited from a goalkeeping mistake to score.

It was 4-0 at the break when Lewis Manor got his first of the evening and he extended his own goal tally when a quick-fire double secured his hat-trick.

Alfie Hilton and Ashley Wackers-Kyriacou combined for Julian Simon-Parson to score the pick of the goals with a half-volley over the goalkeeper for 7-0.

Bowers are 15 points off top spot with three games in hand on Haringey Borough.

Hullbridge Sports also hit seven, with former Bowers striker Luke Hornsley crashing home four goals against Sporting Bengal United in a 7-1 win.

Sporting only had nine men (with players stuck in traffic), and the home team took full advantage with Hornsley scoring after only 55 seconds.

Hornsley and Jamie Buffin put Sports 3-0 up in double-quick time before the visitors were able to field 11 players but there was nothing the bottom side could do to stop Hornsley completed his treble after only 26 minutes.

Bengal grabbed a goal back after a defensive slip but Hornsley replied before the visitors saw a man sent off.

Charlie Little and Buffin completed the scoring to move up to fourth in the standings.

Basildon United’s habit of conceding late goals came back to haunt them once again as they lost 3-2 at the death to Sawbridgeworth Town.

Bees had led 2-0 early on, as goals from Callum Leahy and Ben Sartain gave them the advantage but Town hit back a minute after Basildon had doubled their advantage to give themselves a chance.

Three minutes into the second-period the match was level, but the worst was yet to come as the home team plundered a winner in the 90th minute.
