RYMAN ROUND-UP: Canvey Island face a crunch game against Leiston in their bid to avoid relegation this season.

The Gulls are only two points above the drop zone following last Saturday’s 4-0 home defeat to Hampton & Richmond Borough, but a win would be enough to ensure Canvey’s Ryman Premier League status.

Manager Danny Heale is facing an injury crisis ahead of the match, with a whole host of first-team player set to miss out.

Enoch Showunmi, right, (groin), Marlon Agyakwa (illness), Jay Curran (hamstring), and Kevin Dobinson (knee) are all out. Long-term absentees Rio Bryan-Edwards and Ishmail Kamara (broken legs) also miss out.

It is not mathematically impossible for Leiston to reach the play-offs, although all the teams above the 10th-placed Suffolk side would have to drop points for them to make the top five.

Billericay Town host Tonbridge Angels in their final home match of the season, knowing three points is a must if they aim to take their top five hunt to the final day of the Ryman Premier League season.

Craig Edwards’ men recorded a thrilling 4-3 success over Margate on Tuesday to ensure they still had a chance of making the play-offs.

Angels meanwhile are still in a relegation battle, sitting only three points above the relegation places.

However, a win for Enfield Town at East Thurrock United would extinguish Town’s hopes of making the play-offs.

Rocks’ 2-2 draw with Kingstonian last weekend ended their hopes of a top five finish but John Coventry will be keen for his side to finish the season well at Rookery Hill.

Despite sitting fifth, Enfield have lost more away games than any other side in the top 14, which will give East Thurrock, and Billericay hope.

Great Wakering Rovers end their season at Burroughs Park against Brightlingsea Regent, having already secured their Ryman One North status.

Rovers’ win at Redbridge was enough to keep them up, with Dan Trenkel’s men sitting in 15th place ahead of the weekend’s matches.

But they will find it tough against a side who has enjoyed a remarkable season, having only won promotion themselves last year.

Regent sit eighth and are still in with an outside shot of making the play-offs with two games to go.

Trenkel himself is preparing for the London Marathon in nine days time but went off injured last weekend having scored. He insists he will be ready for the run, although says Jay Nash will miss the clash. Captain and centre-back Lewis Sparrow is likely to play up front in Nash’s absence. Billy Johnson and Tom Ranger are back ahead of schedule and Tony Jacobs is also back.
