FORMER professional Glenn Poole has made waves after becoming the third former Billericay Town man to join Canvey Island in just four days.
Poole, who only left Town 10 days ago, is believed to have been inundated with offers from non-league clubs but has made the move to the Prospects Stadium after meetings with manager Danny Heale.
The former Brentford midfielder, 34, links up with ex-Billericay Town teammates Richard Halle and Steve Sheehan at his new club, after they made the move to Canvey only last week.
And Heale said the signing of the experienced midfielder is another signal of intent from the side who only survived relegation from the Ryman Premier League on the final day of last season. “This is a really good addition for us,” said Heale. “Glenn had a lot of offers but he wanted to come here and the younger players in this team will learn so much from him.”
Poole played 58 times for Billericay last season, as he swept the board at the club’s end of season awards ceremony.
