THE PREVIEW: Canvey face another stern test when they host promotion-hopefuls Bognor Regis Town tomorrow.

A morale-boosting draw against Leiston on Tuesday would have raised spirits after a 3-0 opening day loss at Dulwich Hamlet, but Bognor are another of the league’s big-boys.

With two wins under their belt already, against new boys Merstham and relegated-Staines Town, they will expect more of the same at the Frost Financial Stadium.

The Gulls will be buoyed by the result last year though, as Bognor were beaten 3-1 on the opening day, with Jay Curran scoring a brace.

WHAT HE SAYS: Manager Danny Heale, said: “It was a good point against Leiston in the week and I thought we played well and showed great character to come back so soon after conceding.

“But the hard start continues against Bognor who have started well. But I have watched videos of their results and there are weaknesses there to exploit. They have good players and so do we, so getting three points on the board would set us up well heading forwards.”

TEAM NEWS: Canvey may start Harrison Chatting, after he recovered from flu. Heale has a fully-fit squad to choose from, aside from Lawrence Yiga who still has two-matches of a suspension to sit out.
