THE PREVIEW: A repeat of last year’s Essex Senior League Cup semi-final, Billericay will be hoping for more of the same against the side in the division below them in the Alan Turvey Cup.

Billericay are unbeaten at the start of the season, while Aveley grabbed a last minute winner at the weekend. Former Aveley boss and now Billericay chief Craig Edwards will rotate his squad, but will it pay off?

RECENT RESULTS: WDD

WHAT HE SAYS: Billericay boss Edwards said: “It will be a difficult game. We are quite light in terms of numbers and injuries do mean I will have to rotate the squad a little bit. We have a strong under-21s team and all of those guys are more than capable of stepping up.

“We are playing well and a good cup run would be good for us.”

TEAM NEWS: Club captain Frankie Curley will be rested, having played the start of the season with a broken toe and two cracked ribs. Loui Hazlewood will be assessed after going off injured on Saturday.
